Fairys

Todays our christmas party. 8-) woo... theres only like four of us working here so its sure to be a fun time... jk :P.

I got car insurance yesterday. yay. Did you know that they give you a discount on insurance if you ask them to automatically take it from your bank account? They gave me like a 15 dollar discount when i requested this. Weird.

So i believe my mother is in new york. Lucky. Shes not getting back until Christmas Eve.

Do you remember Fairywinkles? We used to play with them when we were kids. Beki and i normally give eachother gifts from something we used to play all the time (like fuzzy posters or old kid games like hungry-hungry hippos). I was thinking about what to get her and i suddenly remembered fairywinkles. So i went on ebay expecting to pay like three dollars for something that was old. However, apparently, they are old enough to be considered "vintage" toys and are charging like $29.00 for a fairywinkle swan house (the size of your fist) with two of the fairys still in tact... but it wasnt even in the package. It was all worn looking. Crazy, huh? They were pretty cute though. I remember liking them better than pollypocket.

Im making a dump cake later tonight for the party. *drool* im kinda iffy about how much butter slices i am supposed to put on top, so if any of yall read this today (friday) and know, feel free to leave a comment. Ill be checking all day (its been super slow at work..) Im supposed to make those jalapenos with the cream cheese and bacon on top but i cant stand how the jalapeno smell lingers in the house for a couple of days. yuck.

Rats and presents

Theres a nasty "field mouse" in the office where i work at. I think its gross and needs to die but Teresa isnt doing anything to catch it. Ill be answering emails and hear it scraping omething or another. I thought i had it trapped but it was too elusive for me.

Im pretty much done christmas shopping. Jerry and I compromised on what holidays he will celebrate. Thanksgiving, Christmas, July 4th and new years. I was more concerned about the family holidays. I dont want him to be a stranger.

So this is his first christmas- exciting!! I went and got his first stocking and fun stocking stuffers to put in it. Im really excited. He even started getting in the christmas spirit by helping me pick out some of yalls gifts and wrapped his first presents (sadly gema, your present isnt the prettiest... but he tried).

It seems this year that all the presents i got for other people is what i would really like too. Even Papa's house slippers looked and felt really soft... but i resisted the urge to slip them on. My favorite gifts that ive wrapped for someone else is probably gemas, ginas, bekis and mom's. Ive seriously fought myself off ginas. It sounds really neat. Hopefully she'll let me share in the experience of using it after she opens it. And gema's looks really cool too.

Our christmas party is next friday. fun...

Surprise

Its been forever since i posted anything on here. But to be honest, its been kind of crazy lately. Last month i found out that i was pregnant. it definately was not planned but what can i do except to get prepared? I was really scared at first, but mom and gema helped me feel a lot better and gave me some great advice and tips. I don't want to feel like its a secret or something not to be mentioned. I qualified for medicaid and amerigroup which will help a lot and we're thinking that we have enough to where i can take off 4-5 months afterwards. We'll probably be moving into a new place as soon as Jerry's brother is able to get back to work. Im due June 6th. Every 6th of the month is another month im considered pregnant, so right now im about 3 1/2 months.

RIP

Jerry just called me freaking out. His brother apparently cut off his pointer finger and they are driving to the hospital to fix it. They went to llano hospital but i guess they couldnt fix it because they told them to go to Austin. So, Im at work getting ready to go with them. For some reason i have the Fried Green Tomatoes movie stuck in my head. The part when buddy jr loses his arm and they have a funeral for it.

Tagged

Here is how it works. Tell in your blog seven things we never knew about you and now wish we didn't. In other words...Seven strange/weird/crazy things about me. Then tag someone else-(at bottom of your blog say--I tag_____. And post the blog.

1. At restaurants, I always feel under the table for gum or other crap. Its disgusting but i just do it without thinking then im grossed out that i just touched someones chewed gum.

2. I dont mind if i eat something off the floor. As long as its not covered in dirt or anything equally gross, ill just wipe it off and pop it in my mouth.

3. I cant stand to have dirty fingernails. It makes me feel like im completely filthy. And it seems like the only way to actually get them clean clean is to shower.

4. I dont have a weak stomach. I can watch horrible bloody Saw movies and just keep on eating the popcorn while disgusting scenes pass by.

5. I love it when old ladies pass by me. They always smell really good.

6. I hate chocolate candy. The only chocolate i found that I like is hersheys chocolate. And I hate any hot chocolate drinks that doesnt have the hersheys chocolate mix. And I dont like any hot sweet items with ice cream on top. (like cobbler or pie) It makes me sick.

7. I dread going down the shampoo aisle at walmart. So many decisions on what kind of shapoo you can pick out. Same thing with the bean isle.

I cant tag anyone except gina

Jerry

Not many of yall have met Jerry. We've been together for about 4 years this march (excluding the month or so I stayed at gema's).

Anyways, his name is Jerry Lorenzo and is really sweet. He taught me how to speak spanish fluently. He was raised Jahovas witness but cant go to his church anymore because im not of the same religion.

Im bringing him with me to Thanksgiving so everyone can finally meet him.

I cant tell you how much i care for him. We were having some problems for a while with the cultural differences but now we've both given a little and are doing a lot better.

Sorry this post is a little choppy. Ive been having really bad nightmares all week long and have barely slept. I cant think very straight right now.

Need help with shirts

OKAY! I really want to do the shirts for the next family get together. But heres the thing, they are raising the prices!! Its going up 2 dollars and with all the people we have it would mean another $80 or so. So, im going to order them now while they are still cheap and just give them the design later. But heres the thing, i dont want to put anything on there that other people would not like. "spanking" and so on is a growing issue and i know that some of my beloved family wouldnt like to wear a pic of someone insinuating that they are about to spank a kid.

SO! I NEED HELP WITH ARTWORK!! I like the back saying "Love, Laugh, Remember" with the family names benieth it, but i need some ideas for the front.

I also need sizes of shirts from each family. Not right now, but in the next coming months. That way we can have them ready for whenever the weekend is going to be. Don't be shy with the ideas :( any thing helps.

We can all talk about it at Thanksgiving. I just want yall to be thinking about it before then. Also the shirt color. I was going to go with navy but we have enough people where we can order two different colors.

bUgS

I am a proud owner of a Volkswagon Beetle! I love it. Except that its standard and so i avoid all the hills until im confident in my driving ability. Its purple/blue it changes colors as the sun hits it. I dont know. I was brave enough to go out to gemas house on sunday but she wasnt there. figures huh? :P

FRAUD!! *slap*

So, sad to say, Mr. India was a fraud. :( i had an intese conversation with a creditcard head of security lady and she tracked the numbers and told me that they were all coming from the same bank that was probably hacked into. Nice huh? I had to refund all that money. Drag... Now i have a nice little file taped on the wall by my desk with "MR INDIA-CREDIT CARD FRAUD" that has all his weird emails and credit cards just incase the law comes searching for some information. O.o

For the family t-shirts- i was thinking navy shirts with white ink.

On the front there would be a picture (50's style cartoon i think) of a household mom holding a huge paddle and a little boy/little girl (girls shirts would have the little girl. boys shirts, the boy) looking scared. then "DONT WORRY,I SURVIVED" underneith/over it.

On the back it would say:
"LOVE
LAUGH (In big/bold)
REMEMBER
Lewis/Lichtenstein Annual Family Weekend"

I think they would be cute. I figured navy is a boy and girl color. Im excited!! Now its just a matter of wating for the next family weekend.

The entire staff of this company has the flu except for me. So im having to deal with grumpy/needy people all day long. ugggggggggggggggggggg.. Why cant i have the weak immune system?!

Peter skipped school today and is in the office showing me his numerous coin magic tricks. He missed the bus and begged his mom to let him stay home. He also changed his musical instrument from the huge tuba to the trumpet. Which is nice bc when he gets here after schooli dont have to hear "BUM BUM BUM Buum" (tuba/fart like sounds)

I was searching th eweb and found a perfect shirt for jennys new baby >>> Nice, huh? haha

Mr. India

Its been about a week since my last post. eek.

I got a raise at work! Woo. Apparently playing solitaire gets you the big bucks. jk. And then yesterday i made a $4,400 sale to some weird guy from India. He gave me the creeps just talking to him. He would call every 10 minutes with the same line:

"Yes, Hello Chow are you today? May I speek to Hembar?"

He gave me like six cards to charge (all mastercard) which to me is suspicious. Then after i finally got all the money ( I had to sit and play with the cards for a long time to see what amount of money they would approve.) he calls again "Hembar", and wants another 2000 shirts which would be another $4,400. And gives me different credit cards to run. It was already 5:30 and i was in the office alone and frankly, i thought i should wait until tomorrow and call the credit card company to make sure the cards arent stolen. As i was walking out of the office, Mr India was calling again and again. I didnt want to answer! He's weird. So i just let it ring. Creep.

Gema- I sent you a card like a week ago. :( did you get it?

So i was thinking for the next annual family gathering, i would make shirts for all of us but i wanted it to be a fnny shirt but i cant think of anything. *sigh*I was really shocked at how cheap it is. ($4.60 a shirt with one ink color custom designed front and back). Hmm... i dont know. They have to all say the same thing.

Has anyone seen 3:10 to Yuma- the movie? I watched it last weekend and am a little confused? *Thinks about movie* I mean, the whole time the bad guy is trying to break out of confinement, then in the end, his guard is murdered then the bad guy kills all of his posse then boards the train to th ejail? Uh...

Id like to note that Gema's new blog page looks really good.

Yup well, theres nothing else really important that has happened to me that yall would care about. So TTFN

Red

So over the weekend i dyed my hair red....

but its only temporary. i just wanted to see what it looked like.

The directions were to wet oyur hair and pour this black goo all over your hair. My problem was that when i wet my hair its black-ish and so i couldnt telll if ihad the black goo all over. So after i finished, i saw that i had blonde, brown , and red hair. nice, huh? I dont think its that obvious though... or at least i hope not. *blink* oh well, itll be gone in a month or so hopefully. I dont think it looks that bad. Except for my eyebrows are like dark . I was going to dye them too but i got scared and took the goo off before it did any damage.

Well, ive got to go eat something.

This is Rainbow Head, Signing off.

hehe

Work

Work.

Ive been working at my new job for two weeks now and all i have to say is this: EASY.

Coming from abakery where you hardly got a 5 minute break for 8 hours of work, then going to this job and feeling like im on break for the whole eight hours is great-ish.

My new bosses are a married couple with four children. Two of which are younger than me. The first week of my employment I was given an assignment of organizing three boxes full of papers and artwork from 2006-present. Fun. Seeing as there was nothing else to do, i finished the job in two days. After that I became a babysitter to Peter who is an 8-9yr old boy going into middle school and who now, as i was informed by my boss Teresa, has the hotts for me. hehe. I would lug him around with me to run errands and pick up food for the workers.

One fun incident i had with Peter was at Walmart. We were getting chicken from the deli and he kept on telling me how his parents always got te family meal. So, i got that for everyone. What a mistake! The lady handed me a HUGE box filled to the top with fried chicken. 60 pieces were in that box for seven workers!! Then as i was eating he says:

"Amber., this isnt even real chicken. I bet its like McDonalds- all they do is throw the whole chicken into the grinder, grind everything up, feathers and beaks and everything- then mold it to look like chicken".

Yum.

Anywho, my job is effortless. I spend 5 hours of the 8 playing games. But the people are fun.

I am now the champion of solitare.

Joy to the World

I got a job!! Woo.

haha.

So i got all fancied up and went to different places putting in my resume (which is pretty fancy). I went first to the graphic design place and was shocked at how crazy their work area was. They had boxes and their machines crazily thrown all over the place. My initial though was 'act like you re lost and flee in The Giant Egg (my car)' but i went ahead and gave the lady the papers. She told me that they were waiting for the remodelers to finish so the could move back to their regular office. By Monday everything should be nice and neat again. This information was good to hear because i was imagining working there and struggling to keep the mice from stealing my food. I had initially applied for the graphic design but later she called me and told me that she wanted me to run the front office. So i guess I'm going to be like a secretary. Which is fine with me because later when i want to quit this job ill have the 'office' experience needed to work at PEC. :P I start Monday.

I applied to ACC two days ago. I'm thinking about dental hygienist. Ive always been fascinated with watching peoples teeth get fixed but had never really thought about it as a career bc my teeth were so messed up and I thought it would be hypocritical. Anyways, i researched it and ACC offers associate degree for it. I asked mom her opinion and i think shes okay with it. Most dentist offices offer free dental if you work for them so ill be set for life. Im still thinking about it but i believe i would really like it. My old manager/friend from Dairy Queen was just licensed to be a dental assistant and i was helping her study for tests and the information was pretty interesting believe it or not.

Well thats pretty much all that has been happening these past few days. Jennys shower is this weekend. Yay

Wa Wa Waaa

So I got a letter in the mail saying that th ejob position has been filled and thats okay with me. They had over 50 applications and only six made it to the second interview so i still feel that i was lucky to get that far considering my age and experience. So ive been looking at more jobs (ugh... why cant i be a professional slacker?) and narrowed it down to these:
1- Graphic Designer for a Tshirt company
2- Vet Tech-ish help for a veterinarian, no experience required
3-Personal Care Attendant
4-Data Entry Operator
5- Front Office help for a doctors office

Before I would rush with a fire under my butt to get another job but now i just feel like i dont want a job right now. Thats not really a choice for me but i cant get my enthusiasm up like i always did before. Actually, i should be calling people right now but meh. Instead im sitting here, eating a cold corndog with room temp mac and cheese and thinking about jobs (it doesnt help that Judge Joe Brown is on the TV). Ugh, wish me luck

Elusive Job Hunt

Gahh!! So, I quit my job at the bakery about two weeks ago and have been looking for a promising job that pays better than the last one. The first choice was PEC as the pay was a lot better than others and hours were good too. I had the interview (it was a group interview.. talk about urine provoking)
I walked in wearing a floral skirt and baby-pink shirt (im sure i looked about twelve now that i think about it). Taking a seat next to a plump older woman and a shy-looking twenty-two yr old, I felt a little intimidated. I had arrived ten minutes early so I had all that time to think about how horrible i could screw this up... and i did, i think. Four guys camein and introduced themselves as different managers of the company. They began to ask us questions and even now i dont remember what i said. I was soo nervous that i could feel myheart beating in my mchest. All i remember is that i talked really fast and tried to BS my way into making them think i had more experience than i actually did. Then they told us we would be taking an hour and a half long test on basic office needs.
What the heck?
I didnt know that the stuff I learned in PreAp Calculus would be used in an office?! Shoot, I think i dropped that class for PE. Anyways, the test was based on Math, Reading, Spelling error correction (which im sure i failed), Data Imput, and True or false.
I saved the Spelling Error and Math for the last because i knew that i would take the longest on those. I got to the math and took a swift look at my competitors progress. All were scribling their math work on the scrap paper that was provided. The test wasa on the computer and i knew that i could cheat but i didnt wan tto be caught cheating at a job interview... but i opened up the calculator program on the computer and quickly answered the questions. I think the lady sitting next to me saw but meh, i was using my resources.
After all that stress from the test, i finished and stood up to walk back to the desks where we originally sat. I dont know what exactly happened but when i sat down, i felt all the blood drain from my face which resulted in me looking whiter that i normally am.
"Amber, are you alright?" The manager asked.
Feeling dumb, i just smiled and said yes while trying to breath and get my complexion back. Hopefully they didnt think i was a health-hazard druggie.
Ugh, well i had my second interview and if i get the job or not they should call me. I was the only one in the group that spoke spanish but i didnt have any office experience. IDk either way im going ot apply to some other jobs today just incase. Hopefully Ill find something.

Weird Walmart Man

It seems lately that Ive been atracting the weird and lonely type of guys. Most of whom are extremely older than me. For example, the other day i ambled into walmart slowly making my way through the aisles until finally deciding to buy a computer game. I tentavily pushed my cart into the crowded space and began looking for something interesting to play. I momentarily made eye contact with a raggidy looking character looking at wizard games. Taking this as an opportunity for a friendship, he began rambling on and on.
"Have you kept up on the harry potter series?"He asked, eyeing me.
"...No..."
He went on explaining to me how he refuses to read the last book bc so many people die and that instead he writes "fan series" so that he can control the way things happen. He took up ten minutes just explaining why Harry and Hermoine werent right for eachother.
"Its most unfortunate that my ex-wife was exactly like... well... Ron. Selfish and egoistical"He had said looking genuinely upset.
I looked at the lady stocking PC games and prayed that someone would call me or text me or anything just to get me out of this weird situation. I sat there, 30 minutes waiting for him to finish until finally making an excuse that i had to 'pee like a racehorse' and fled to the other side of the store seeking refuge in the produce department.
Seriously, this guy and the incident with Ryan from the bakery just makes me wonder what im doing wrong that makes 35yr old losers who live with their mom want to be friends with me. Honestly.
